The Priory, Lewes

This is painted plein air, during the summer, at the ruins at the Priory in Lewes, Sussex. The view is through an archway, looking out onto the fields beyond. I get this sense that whenever I go there, I am looking through a window to the past, wondering how the monks lived that once inhabited it.
