Oil and Cold Wax on 3mm birch ply panel
60 cm x 40 cm
In this painting I worked with a complementary purple/green palette and have agitated the surface texture to evoke the sense of a stormy day. The road naturally leads one’s eye into the painting, to a focal point that coincides with the golden ratio with respect to both width and height. This was painted largely from memory, which gave rise to the vague, abstracted description of form.
