Oil and Cold Wax on 3mm birch ply panel
60 cm x 60 cm
This painting is painted sketches made plein air of the sun setting in Barcombe Mills, Sussex. I have used a limited palette and tried to create the impression of the scene, and let the colours evoke the mood. I have abstracted the landscape in a way that allows one’s eye to roam freely over the surface, much like one can with clouds, and pick out patterns and shapes that appear fleetingly, and then are gone.
